Project details

Medical image data is often collected for specific clinical studies, but can’t be combined and used in later studies because of difficulties in reliably removing personal health information (PHI) at scale.

This paper describes the specific issues that make it difficult to remove PHI from medical images, the detection, transformation, and validation phases of the proposed solution, and the uses of large de-identified clinical datasets that are now available.
